In this issue we re-visit Julie, the twin sister of the 18th Phantom!

Both Julie and The Phantom star in The Death Peddlers, a strange tale of jungle mystery and intrigue.

Phantom enthusiasts know that Julie was a courageous woman who briefly took over her brother’s role in the famous Lee Falk 1952 Sunday story, The Female Phantom. That unique event came about after The Phantom was injured and was unable to look after his jungle friends.

Lee never brought Julie back into The Chronicles but, in recent times, European writers have taken the liberty of expanding on Lee’s original theme and portraying Julie as the wife of a young missionary she rescued in The Female Phantom and in later life, as a medical scientist working with Dr Louis Pasteur in Paris.
