Story: The Baronkhan Sedition is the 244th daily story to come from King Features. It was written with the seasoned pen of Tony DePaul and drawn by Paul Ryan. Sadly, Paul passed away before completion and Mike Manley stepped in to finish it off. If you notice a shift in style at the end that is the reason. The daily started on February 1st 2016 with a total of 108 strips it ran for 18 week until June 4th 2016. The main villain in this story Dumat at first appearance seems to be a Royalist who is unhappy with Prince Rex’s loving liaison with Captain Lara, but there is more to this than meets the eye as the Phantom is soon to find out. It is a story in which many people have jumped to the wrong conclusions. The Phantom finds himself having to re-educate the different factions so that they develop a broader understanding of the political consequences of their misguided and ill informed actions. There is a link made between this story and a previous Sunday story The Battlements of the Nomad in so far as Dumat’s finance and support is concerned. Enough said, I have learned over time that I must at all times restrain myself from revealing too much, or else I spoil the fun of your discovery! The story at the back, SOS Phantom The Pirate Raiders is a story that would have been previously published by King Comics in 1966 written and drawn by Bill Lignante. The covers on this issue were done by Queenland artist Shane Foley. Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting Shane at Supanova and the LFMBEC dinner last month. Once again he has turned in a front and rear cover of outstanding quality that truly captures the feel and mood of the story.
